Max McLean/Border/Encana Arenas

Recreation Centre: The Recreation Centre opened in September 2007 and features two regulation size ice surfaces (the Encana Arena and the Border Paving Arena). The main corridor serves as a connecting link between two pre-existing facilities: the Max McLean Arena and Curling Rink, and the Aquatic Centre. The Centre also includes meeting room facilities available in several configurations to meet a variety of needs as well as a Running/Walking track around the perimeter of the Encana Arena.

Encana Arena: The Encana Arena is the primary multi-use event facility within the Recreation Centre. It has an NHL regulation size ice surface with a two-tier bowl seating configuration and a sky seating area to accommodate a total of over 2500 spectators for major sport competitions and concerts.

The outer perimeter of the concourse level of the Encana Arena is outlined by a three-lane rubberized Running / Walking Track that allows track pass holders to get their daily walk or run regardless of the weather. Track passes are available at the Community Services Department Offices in the Aquatic Centre and Recreation Centre as well as at the Aquatic Reception Desk in the Aquatic Centre.

The Encana Arena is the home arena for the Camrose Jr. A Kodiaks Hockey Club, the Augustana Vikings Hockey Club, Camrose Minor Hockey, and the Camrose Skating Club.

Border Paving Arena: The Border Paving Arena is located in the Recreation Centre and it is a regulation size (200’ x 85’) ice surface and the facility has seating for 300 spectators.

Max McLean Arena: The Max McLean Arena is located in the Recreation Centre and it has one sheet of regulation size ice and seating for approximately 1200 spectators.
